Major Traffic Congestion Expected At Alabama Concert

Mayfield, Ky.—Alabama will be appearing in concert Saturday at Graves Co. High School in Mayfield and the Kentucky State Police are cautioning the public to expect major traffic congestion.

The concert, which features Alabama and Olivia Faye of Murray, will be held from 5-10 p.m. and is sponsored by Independence Bank.

According to the KSP, major traffic congestion is expected leading up to the 4 p.m. opening of parking near the High School.  Major congestion is also expected following the concert, which is scheduled to end at approximately 10 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Mayfield Police, and Graves County Sheriff’s Department will periodically have traffic control measures in place to include limiting traffic to one way.

Motorists are asked to watch for pedestrians walking along and crossing nearby roads to include Highway 121. Anyone not attending the concert is asked to avoid the immediate area if possible, especially during the anticipated arrival and departure times of attendees.

Another concert sponsored by Independence Bank will feature Jennifer Nettles and Rodney Atkins and will be held August 19 at the Ballard Co. Convention Center.
