Union City, Tenn.—Discovery Park CEO Jim Rippy won the annual You Made It Happen Award last night at the Obion County Joint Economic Development Council annual banquet.
Union City Electric won Business Partner of the Year; Carolina Conner was named Young Professional of the Year; Cody Martin received the Ambassador of the Year Award; Donny Johnson was named Board Member of the Year.
The award for Agriculture Business of the Year went to White Squirrel Winery in Kenton; Buddy’s Wrecker Service won Small Business of the Year; Jerry Ward Autoplex won Business of the Year; and Industry of the Year went to Greenfield Products.
Speaker for the evening was Tennessee Commissioner of Agriculture Jai Templeton. He said agriculture has an impact of $71B and there are 67,000 farmers in the state. In Obion County, there are 568 farms with an annual payroll of $141M.
