Paris, TN – “HAPNA in the Park – A Fantastic Fall Festival” is scheduled for Saturday, October 13 on the grounds of the Atkins-Porter Rec Center at the corner of Walnut and Highland Streets. The free event is sponsored by the Historic Atkins Porter Neighborhood Association and runs from 11 am – 3 pm, rain or shine.
“Activities scheduled for the event are fun for both children and adults,” said Co-Chair Vickey Roberts. The “Touch A Truck” area features all sorts of emergency vehicles, construction vehicles and even the Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter. “Children love to get up close and personal with these vehicles and visit with the operators,” said Roberts.
Lunch will be hot off the grill from the Henry County Sheriff’s Department and will be available from 11 am – 1 pm, or as long as the hotdogs, chips, water and cookies last. Lunch donations are encouraged to help the Historic Atkins Porter Neighborhood Association fund its many neighborhood activities.
Talented local arts and crafts vendors will also be on hand, according to Mandy Flowers McDevitt. The registration form is available on the Atkins-Porter Facebook page or by calling 731-336-3373. Other exciting activity booths include the Birds of Prey from Paris Landing, plus Bethel University, Tomorrow’s Hope and a K-9 demonstration from Sheriff Monte Belew and his dog, Si.
