9/3  LIFELINE BLOOD SERVICES WILL BE AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH IN PARIS FOR THEIR MONTHLY BLOOD DRIVE ON THURSDAY FROM NOON UNTIL 6PM.  WHEN YOU COME OUT, YOU CAN REGISTER TO WIN TICKETS TO WATCH THE TENNESSEE TITANS PLAY THE MIAMI DOLPHINS IN NASHVILLE ON OCTOBER 18TH. THE TICKETS WILL BE GIVEN AWAY AFTER THE LIFELINE BLOOD DRIVE IN PARIS ON OCTOBER 1ST.  DONATE BLOOD THROUGH LIFELINE AND YOU COULD WIN A CHANCE TO SEE THE TITANS PLAY THIS SEASON.

9/4  NOON ON THE SQUARE WILL KICK OFF THIS FRIDAY AROUND THE COURTSQUARE IN PARIS FROM NOON TO 1PM.   NOON ON THE SQUARE WILL CONTINUE EACH FRIDAY IN SEPTEMBER.  THERE WILL BE CONCESSIONS AVAILABLE AND GREAT LIVE MUSIC.  THIS WEEK, THE BARONS, SPECIALIZING IN 60S AND 70S MUSIC, WILL PERFORM AND HENRY COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER WILL BE GIVING FREE BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS.

9/5  DONATIONS FOR AN UPCOMING BENEFIT YARD SALE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON SATURDAY STARTING AT 9AM IN THE PARKING LOT OF THE OLD DOCTORS CLINIC BUILDING ON REELFOOT AVENUE IN UNION CITY.  THE SALE, PLANNED FOR THE FIRST WEEKEND IN OCTOBER, WILL BENEFIT THE FAMILY OF BARRETT AND LAURA BETTS.  THEIR 5 YEAR OLD SON BENTLEY WAS RECENTLY DIAGNOSED WITH BATTEN DISEASE.  PROCEEDS WILL HELP WITH MEDICAL BILLS AND EQUIPMENT.  IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION, CALL 796-2471.

9/6  THE HOMEPLACE 1850S FARM AND MUSEUM WILL HOLD THEIR ANNUAL “TRADES FAIR” FROM 10AM-4PM BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AT LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA.  THERE WILL BE VARIOUS TRADES AND DEMONSTRATIONS INCLUDING HAND KNITTING, WOOD-WORKING AND POTTERY MAKING.  PLUS, THERE WILL BE HOMEADE BREADS, BAKED GOODS, HONEY AND MORE.  ADMISSION IS $5 FOR AGES 13 & OLDER, $3 FOR AGES 5-12 AND FREE FOR AGES 4 AND UNDER. 

9/7  THE 2ND ANNUAL LABOR DAY 5K BENEFITING ST. CURTIS HALFORD AND LANE COLLEGE PRESIDENT DR. 9/13  (NO KF/KQ) BIRD’S CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH ON WHITLOCK ROAD IN PARIS WILL HAVE A “ONE DAY REVIVAL” ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH.  SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL START AT 9AM, WORSHIP SERVICE AT 10AM AND SUNDAY EVENING WORSHIP AT 6PM.  EVERYONE IS INVITED TO COME WORSHIP WITH THEM.

9/15  THE OBION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY AND WLJT WILL WELCOME IN SOME OF PBS’ MOST POPULAR CHARACTERS FOR THIS YEAR’S OBION COUNTY CORNFEST KIDS CONCERT.  STEVE SONGS AND PEG + (PLUS) CAT WILL BE AT THE LIBRARY ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH AT 6PM.  YOU’RE INVITED TO BRING YOUR CAMERAS AND TAKE PICTURES AFTER THE CONCERT.  THIS FREE FAMILY-FUN EVENT WILL BE HELD IN THE LIBRARY’S NEW AMPITHEATER.
